Maharashtra reported 3,623 fresh COVID-19 cases and 46 deaths on Sunday, taking the total number of cases in the state to 64,97,877 and deaths to 1,38,142, the health department said.
The state’s recovery rate is 97.04 percent and the death rate is 2.12 percent. A total of 2,972 patients recovered during the day. With this, 63,05,788 people have recovered from the infection so far.

Mumbai city reported 357 new cases and seven deaths, taking its tally to 7,35,055 and fatalities to 16,022. The Mumbai division, which includes the country’s financial capital and its satellite townships, recorded 751 cases and eight deaths on Sunday. While seven deaths occurred in Mumbai city, one died in Navi Mumbai. The total case count of this division is 1,66,0414 and the death toll is 35,106.
Nashik division reported 779 cases, including 644 in Ahmednagar district, while Pune division recorded 1,446 cases, including 500 in Pune district.
441 new cases were reported in Kolhapur division including 217 in Sangli district, while 26 cases were registered in Aurangabad division without any deaths.
In Latur division, the number of cases increased by 148 and the death toll by three. Two of these deaths occurred in Beed district, while one was reported in Osmanabad district.
21 new cases were reported in Akola division, while 11 cases were reported in Nagpur division. Both these divisions did not report a single death during the day.
