Covid-19: At 34,400, India’s 7-day average is still falling despite slight increase in cases. India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Despite a slight increase in daily cases, seven days Average continues to fall. Jharkhand’s numbers are yet to come, having seen 36,599 cases and 543 deaths on Thursday. However, the seven-day average stood at 34,445, which has been declining since August 5. Also, the cases have not crossed the 40k mark for the last seven days.
The decline in cases was visible in most of the states. Barring a marginal increase in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Puducherry, cases across all states and union territories that were reported on Thursday were lower than last week’s numbers.
The decline was highest in Maharashtra where 1,163 fewer cases were reported this Thursday than last Thursday. There has been a decline of 425 in Karnataka, 358 in Andhra Pradesh and 329 in Kerala.
Overall, Kerala reported 21,116 cases which was the highest among the states. With 197 deaths recorded on Thursday, the death toll in Kerala was also the highest among the states. It is followed by Maharashtra where 154 people died. The toll was 68 for Odisha, 29 for Tamil Nadu and 27 for Karnataka.
