COVID-19: 3 more test positive for Omicron, tally at 44 in Telangana Hyderabad News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: While two passengers who returned from non-risk countries in the last two days tested positive for new omicron In the edition of COVID-19 on Sunday, one more case was found among the contacts of a positive patient. This is the second instance of a contact testing positive in the state.
With three new cases, the total number of omicron cases in the state so far has gone up to 44. Out of 44, 10 patients made a complete recovery and were discharged two days back.
While it is still too early to reach any clear understanding about the new variant, officials say they are banking on RT-PCR tests to see if patients test negative after 14 days. “Since all 10 were asymptomatic, it is too early to say anything about the virus. However, the lungs were not involved in any of the cases,” said a source in the state health department.
A total of 11,493 passengers have landed at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, including 248 passengers who landed on Sunday. Two passengers tested positive in the RT-PCR test conducted at the airport and their samples have been sent for genome sequencing.
During this, Telangana 109 new cases of Covid-19 cases and one death were observed. A total of 3,167 reports are still awaited. The number of active cases in the state stood at 3,417. A total of 190 patients were declared healthy on Saturday.
GHMC (GHMC) reported 69 cases on Saturday, while neighboring Medchal Malkajgiri reported seven cases, Ranga Reddy 10 and Sanga Reddy one new case. Hanamkonda in Warangal, outside Hyderabad city and its outskirts, recorded the highest number of cases outside GHMC limits with seven new cases.
