Couple, child dies in mysterious fire in Hazaribagh Ranchi News – Times of India

Hazaribagh: A couple and their eight-year-old son mysteriously died fire which broke down at his house in Lohartoli area windows Lohsinghana police station area Hazaribagh City on Thursday morning. The deceased have been identified as Munna Vishwakarma (45), his wife Sonam Kumari (40) and their son Ayush Kumar. The couple’s two daughters – Bhumika Kumari and Kusum Kumari – survived as they were sleeping in another room with their aunt Kalpana Devi.
SP Karthik S, who reached the spot, told that all have been burnt alive and the bodies have been sent to Hazaribagh Medical College and Hospital. A Medical Board has been constituted by the Deputy Commissioner for post-mortem of the dead bodies. An FIR has also been lodged with the Lohsinghana police station in connection with the incident.
The SP further said that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. “We have formed a forensic team to probe the cause of the fire, which started around 2.30 am. The people of the area alleged that some burning cloth was thrown inside the room where victim Vishwakarma was sleeping with his wife and son. Seeing the fire, the local people woke up and informed us and we called the fire brigade. We could take out the bodies only after the fire was extinguished.
Talking to media persons, Kalpana said that the family had gone to the city to attend the marriage function of their relative and returned around 2 am and went to sleep. He claimed that when they entered the room, the person whom they could not recognize, locked the door from outside and set the house on fire.
However, the police refused to say anything till the completion of the investigation. The deceased Vishwakarma was working as a clerk to LIC Development Officer DK Tiwari. The employees of LIC department expressed surprise on why someone killed Vishwakarma.
