All the parties have started preparations for the next year’s UP Assembly Elections. In the meantime, the Congress has set up its own inquiry committee or screening committee in Uttar Pradesh.Congress Screening Committee) is formed. Jitendra Singh has been made its president. The Screening Committee will have general secretary in-charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, party UP chief Ajay Lallu, CLP leader Aradhana Mishra Mona as ex-officio members. With this, Congress has now started the application process for candidate selection. For this, application can be made at Budhana Gate Congress office till 25 September. At the same time, along with the application, the interested candidates will also have to give a draft of Rs 11,000 in the name of the President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee.

Congress has constituted election committee

Earlier, the Congress had constituted an election committee. The panel includes senior leaders including UP Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu and former Union ministers Salman Khurshid, Rajiv Shukla and RPN Singh. AICC General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal had informed about the formation of the UPCC State Election Committee.

Apart from the 38 nominated members, the panel includes national presidents or presidents of AICC organizations or departments of Uttar Pradesh, state heads of the party’s frontal organizations, vice-presidents and general secretaries of Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, Congress state president Ajay Kumar Lallu had said that the party would contest the UP assembly elections next year under the supervision of general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
