The country’s first snow-marathon is going to be held tomorrow i.e. on Saturday at Sisu in the tribal district of Lahaul-Spiti, Himachal Pradesh. There will be a marathon in five categories in this thrilling race between the snow. It will take participants from all over the country. The entire track for the marathon is covered with snow.

150 participants from across the country will participate

Rajesh, the organizer of the marathon, said that the full marathon will be of 42 km, while the half marathon will be of 21 km, 10 km, 5 km and one kilometer. Its start and end points have been fixed at Sissu Helipad. He told that about 150 participants from all over the country are participating in it. More enthusiasm is being seen especially among the women participants regarding this.

Preparations going on for a month

Rajesh told that all the preparations for the marathon have been completed. For the past one month, arrangements for practice, route mapping, medical arrangements are going on. Health checkup has been arranged for the local people by a team of 15 people on behalf of Fortis Hospital in Sissu.

A matter of pride for the whole country

Rajesh told that it is a matter of pride not only for Himachal Pradesh but for the entire country. The snow-marathon is being organized at an altitude of about 10,000 feet. Its aim is to connect the younger generation with the Fit India Movement and keep them away from drug addiction.
