Taliban will not allow any country to use Afghan military planes

The acting defense minister has said that the Taliban will not allow any country to use Afghan military planes pulled out of Afghanistan. Speaking at a ceremony in Kabul, acting Defense Minister Mawlawi Mohammad Yacoub Mujahid said on Tuesday that military planes taken abroad should be returned. According to a report in Tolo News, the Air Force exercised during the ceremony.

The Defense Minister said that the countries from where the military aircraft were taken will face consequences if they do not return them.

“Our planes that are in Tajikistan or Uzbekistan should be returned. We will not allow these planes to remain abroad or be used by those countries,” he said.

“After the fall of the former government, more than 40 helicopters were delivered to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan,” he said.

Before the fall of the former government, Afghanistan had over 164 active military aircraft and now only 81 are in the country. According to Tolo News, the rest were taken out of Afghanistan and brought to different countries.
