The court said that the effect of its order will be in the whole country. Currently, the deadline for filing TAR and ITR (for specific taxpayers) for assessment year 2021-22 is February 15 and March 15, respectively.
A consortium of chartered accountants has already sought extension of the deadline citing glitches in the newly introduced IT portal. He also sought permission to physically file tax returns and reports.
