Coronavirus Omicron Variant Vaccine: Will nasal vaccines prove effective against Omicron variants of COVID?

So far, coronavirus vaccines have provided adequate protection against the SARs-COV-2 virus. While breakthrough infections are on the rise, existing vaccines have actually reduced the number of serious illnesses and the risk of hospitalization and death.

However, with the emergence of new forms, scientists are competing to evaluate the efficacy of available vaccines and booster shots. Additionally, vaccine makers are exploring new possibilities to increase the effectiveness of the vaccine.

Nasal vaccines, for one, are now considered the most recent shot of hope in our fight against the new COVID variant Omicron. Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech, the makers of Covaxin, is currently working towards developing an intranasal vaccine shot, which can bolster the body’s immune response against the virus.
