India on Friday reached a new milestone with over 42 crore people getting vaccinated against coronavirus. On Friday, 35,342 new cases and 483 deaths were reported in the country in 24 hours. So far 4.19 lakh people have died due to Kovid in the country.

Bloomberg quoted research models and local authority figures as saying that India’s death toll from Kovid could range from 1.3 million to five million. The government has denied the claims.

India’s test positivity rate (positive cases identified for every 100 tests) is declining. For 32 consecutive days on Friday, it remained below five per cent at 2.14 per cent.
