Covid vaccine coverage has crossed the 66 crore mark (File)
New Delhi:
India’s daily Covid count jumped 12% on Thursday as 47,092 infections were detected in 24 hours. This is the biggest increase in one day in two months. 509 deaths were recorded in the same period, the health ministry said.
Kerala contributed about 70% of the 32,803 cases or new cases and a third of the related deaths.
The Union Health Ministry said that India’s active cases account for 1.19% of the total cases, while the national COVID recovery rate stood at 97.48% on Thursday. The daily positivity rate was 2.8%.
With at least one dose required in 54% of adults and two doses required in 16%, the COVID vaccine coverage has crossed the 66 crore mark.
