Coronavirus Live Updates: The weekly case positivity rate currently stands at 0.26 per cent.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday said that India has registered 975 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours with a daily positivity rate of 0.32 per cent. The weekly case positivity rate is 0.26 percent.

The health bulletin showed that the active caseload in the country is 11,366 which is 0.03 per cent of the total cases.

The total number of people who have recovered since the start of the pandemic in the country has gone up to 4,25,07,834, 796 Covid patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.

Right now the recovery rate is 98.76 percent.

During this four patients lost their lives. With this, the death toll in the country has risen to 5,21,747.

In the last 24 hours, 6,89,724 doses of Kovid vaccine were administered, taking the total number of vaccines administered in the country to 1,86,38,31,723.

China’s Shanghai records 3,238 local COVID-19 cases

China’s economic hub Shanghai reported 3,238 confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, the municipal health commission said on Sunday.

According to the commission, the city also recorded 21,582 local asymptomatic carriers during that period, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Delhi today recorded a COVID-19 positivity rate of 5.33 per cent, which is 26 per cent higher than yesterday. The positivity rate is the number of cases detected per 100 tests.

The national capital also reported 461 new cases today, which is 26 percent more than yesterday. Government data shows that two people have died due to Kovid in the last 24 hours.

The rising number of cases has raised the concern of school children. Experts have also called for vaccination of children below the age of 12 who have co-morbidities.
