Coronavirus death toll in India dips below 100 mark with 89 fresh deaths, know about daily increase

The new coronavirus infection took the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,29,87,875, while the active cases rose to 40,559.

According to the data of the Union Health Ministry, the death toll rose to 5,15,803.

Active cases comprise 0.09 per cent of the total infections, while the daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.44 per cent.

The number of people recovering from COVID-19 rose to 4,24,31,513.

The cumulative vaccine doses administered in the country so far have exceeded 179.91 crores under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

Kerala on Friday reported 1,175 new positive cases and 73 COVID-19 related deaths taking the caseload in the state to 65,19,125 and the death toll to 66,762.

Maharashtra now has 2,925 active COVID-19 patients.

Delhi, on the other hand, recorded zero deaths due to coronavirus for the second consecutive day on Friday and 174 cases with a positivity rate of 0.45 per cent, as per the data shared by the health department.

The death toll stands at 26,140 and the number of active cases is 860.
