New Delhi: India reported a significant drop in daily Covid-19 cases after 102 days of less than 40,000 new infections. According to the Union Health Ministry, 37,566 new Covid-19 cases, 56,994 cured and 907 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total number of coronavirus cases re-recorded in the country so far stands at 3,03,16,897. There are at least 5,52,659 active cases of Covid. While 2,93,66,601 Covid-infected patients have been cured so far, the death tally has been pushed to 3,97,637 after 907 deaths were added yesterday.

The Indian Council of Medical Research said that a total of 40,81,39,287 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till June 28. Of these, 17,68,008 samples were tested yesterday.
According to a provisional report provided by the Centre, more than 32.85 crore (32,85,54,011) doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far. The Union Health Ministry said that 48.01 (48,01,465) lakh vaccine doses were given on Monday.
It said that 28,63,823 beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 were given the first dose and 91,640 received the second dose on Monday. Overall, 8,75,67,172 people aged 18-44 have received the first dose and 19,94,410 people have been given the second dose since the start of the third phase of the nationwide vaccination campaign.
