The corona vaccine will be administered to children in the age group of 15 to 18 years from January 3 in the country. For this, registration can be done from January 1. CoWIN Platform Chief Dr RS Sharma said that for this, you will be able to register on the Cowin App.
Dr. RS Sharma told that 10th ID card will also be considered as identity proof for registration. This is because some students will not have Aadhar card or any other identity card.
Vaccine registration process
- First of all go to Covin App. Enter your mobile number. OTP will come and log in by entering it.
- Now choose any one photo ID proof from Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, Pension Passbook, NPR Smart Card, Voter ID, Unique Disability ID or Ration Card.
- Enter the number, name of the ID you have chosen. Then select Gender and Date of Birth.
- After the member is added, you enter the pin code of your nearest area. The list of vaccination centers will come.
- Now select the date, time and vaccine of vaccination. Go to the center and get vaccinated.
- At the vaccination center, you will have to provide the reference ID and secret code. Which you get when you register.
- Similarly, you can register your vaccination by adding other members to your login.
Covaccine approved for emergency use on children aged 12 to 18 years
At present, only 15 to 18 year old children will be given the corona vaccine in the country. The government has not taken a decision on the vaccination of children younger than that.
Even though the Drugs Controller has approved Bharat Biotech’s Covaccine for emergency use on children between the ages of 12 and 18, the government has decided to start the vaccination only for children between the ages of 15 and 18.
About 10 crore children in the country are in the age group of 15-18 years.
According to official figures, there are around 100 million children in the age group of 15-18 years in the country. It will be the effort of the government to give the first dose of vaccine to these children as soon as possible. It is known that the demand for children’s vaccine is being made in the country for a long time.
Children are being vaccinated in more than 30 countries
More than 30 countries around the world are giving corona vaccine to children with different conditions. In Cuba, children above the age of 2 years are being vaccinated, while in South Korea, Australia and the Philippines, children above the age of 12 are being vaccinated.
