There were reports of many people absconding due to fear of being quarantined during the Corona period, but on Thursday, a case of absconding of a Corona positive officer associated with the Indian Forest Service (IFS) has come to the fore.

A team of 48 officers had arrived at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Uttarakhand for mid-term training. On doing the corona test, 11 of these officers were found positive. After this all the 48 officers were isolated. This team had reached Lucknow IIM before coming to Dehradun. After this everyone was sent to Delhi, where everyone had a corona test. The officers left for Dehradun even before the report came, while 6 officers were found positive in the report.

More than 1600 families live in the 1200 acre campus
According to media reports, in 2020, the first case of Uttarakhand came to the fore in FRI itself. At that time also, infection was found in IFS officers who reached Dehradun after training from abroad. The entire FRI campus was sealed for a few days on 19 March 2020 when 3 cases of corona were reported here. Spread over 1200 acres, more than 2.5 thousand officers-employees and more than 1600 families live in this campus.

So far 7,407 have died in Uttarakhand
According to reports, the number of corona infected in Uttarakhand has gone up to 3,44,156. Out of this, 3,30,432 people have been cured, while 7,407 patients have died. The state’s recovery rate is 96.01% and positivity rate is 0.12%.
