The havoc of Corona continues in the country. Around 16,700 cases were registered on Thursday. 27% more cases were reported on Thursday as compared to 13,180 cases found on Wednesday. Till Thursday night, 16,695 corona cases were reported in the country. This is the highest number of cases in a single day in the last 71 days. Earlier on October 20, 18,388 cases were received.
The daily cases have increased 2.6 times since Monday. On Monday, 6,242 infections were recorded. The maximum increase in cases is happening in metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore. Apart from this, cases are increasing in almost all the states except Kerala and Northeast states.

More than 1000 corona cases in a day in Delhi
The number of new corona patients in Delhi has crossed the 1000 mark. In the last 24 hours, 1313 corona cases have been registered in the capital, which is about 42% more than Wednesday. Delhi has the highest number of new cases in a single day after May 26.
Here, corona infection is spreading rapidly in Maharashtra. On Thursday, the total corona cases in the state have gone up to 5,368. This is 37% more than Wednesday’s cases. 22 deaths have also been recorded here. The biggest concern in Maharashtra is about the pace of new cases in Mumbai. On Thursday, 3,671 new cases of corona were registered in Mumbai. There are 11,360 active cases right now. A 52-year-old patient died of a heart attack at the Municipal Corporation hospital on December 28 in Pimpri Chinchwad, Maharashtra. On Thursday, the genome sequencing report of his samples came, in which he has been found to be Omicron positive. The deceased patient had recently returned from Nigeria. On the other hand, the cases of the new variant in the country have crossed 1000. Now a total of 1200 Omicrons have been found infected in the country. On Thursday, 198 new cases of Omicron were found in Maharashtra alone, taking the total cases here to 450.
