Omicron infected foreigner found in Bangalore has gone to Dubai on November 27

The foreign national in whose sample the Omicron variant has been confirmed in Bengaluru has gone to Dubai on November 27 itself. The travel report of this citizen has been issued by the Bangalore Municipal Corporation.

It has been told in the report that the foreign national who had taken both the doses of the vaccine had reached Bengaluru on 20 November with a negative report. Due to his coming from ‘at-risk countries’, RT-PCR test was done at the airport itself.

After that he went to the hotel. He was found positive in the report on the same day. The government doctor went to the hotel and examined him. If no symptoms were found in him during the investigation, he was instructed to self-isolate. His sample was sent for genome sequencing on 22 November.

According to the report, the test reports of all 24 people who came in contact with him came negative. After this, 240 people who came in contact with those 24 people as secondary contacts were tested. All these reports have also been found negative.

The foreign national got the corona test done from a private lab on 23 November, in which the report came negative. After this, on the night of 27 November, he took a taxi from the hotel at 12:12 pm and after reaching the airport, he left for Dubai city of UAE.

Bangalore’s Omicron infected health worker discharged from hospital in three days
An Indian health worker found infected with the Omicron variant in Bengaluru itself is said to have received both doses of the vaccine and has no travel history. All the people who came in contact with him have been identified and are being monitored. He was sent back home on November 27 after being isolated first at home and then in the hospital for three days.

According to a note issued by the Municipal Corporation, the health worker was tested positive on November 21 after he developed fever and body pain, whose report on November 22 found him to be positive. Due to his low CT value, the sample was sent for genome sequencing.

He was kept in isolation at home from 22 to 24 November, while on 25 November he was admitted to the hospital. After three days in the hospital, he was sent back home on November 27.

The Hindu report quoted Bengaluru Municipal Corporation commissioner Gaurav Gupta as saying that 13 primary and 205 secondary contacts who came in contact with the health worker found infected with Omicron were reported. Of these, 3 primary and 2 secondary contacts have been found positive, whose samples have been sent for genome sequencing.

According to ANI, Karnataka Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar has also confirmed that 6 people who came in contact were found positive. Dr. Sudhakar said that these include doctors treating Omicron infected health workers. All of them have been admitted to the government hospital. where his condition is normal. All of them had received both doses of the corona vaccine. Genome sequencing of all the samples is being done.

After getting Omicron, booster dose can be given in Karnataka
After this, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya spoke to Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. According to the report of PTI, in view of the danger of Omicron, it was discussed to give booster dose to all the health workers of the state. After the meeting, CM Bommai has said that he will discuss with his administration regarding the booster dose.

ICMR said – there is no need to panic about getting Omicron variant in the country
ICMR Director General Balram Bhargava told in the Health Ministry’s press conference regarding Corona that genome sequencing of infected is being done in 37 labs set up by the Health Department. Health Minister will review the testing at the airport with the states
The central government has become alert after receiving two cases of Omicron in the country as well. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will hold meetings with all states and union territories. During the meeting, orders related to Kovid testing and surveillance started from Wednesday at all international airports will be reviewed.

In view of the threat of the new variant, samples of 10 passengers have been sent for genome sequencing from midnight of December 1 till Thursday. RT-PCR test of about 8 thousand people has been done.

On 26 November WHO named the new variant B.1.1.529 as Omicron. It has been placed in the variant of concern category. After this came to light, many countries had banned flights to South Africa.

55% of the country’s cases in Kerala and Maharashtra
Health Ministry’s Joint Secretary Luv Aggarwal said that for a month, the cases of corona in the country have been decreasing continuously. It is a matter of concern that the positivity rate is still more than 10% in 15 districts. In 18 districts, this rate remains 5 to 10%. Kerala and Maharashtra are the only two states with more than 10,000 active cases. More than 55% of the country’s cases are here.

He said that 49% of the population received both doses of the vaccine. Door-to-door vaccination campaign has started. There are currently 99,763 active cases of corona in the country. In the last 24 hours, 9,765 new cases have been reported.
