After the implementation of the new rules, the Central Government on Wednesday, 6 passengers coming from ‘at risk’ countries have been found infected.

So far 3,476 people have been screened at various airports in the country. All of them were from 11 flights coming from ‘at risk’ countries. In this, the report of 4 passengers from Delhi Airport has been found positive. All four have returned from Britain and the Netherlands. Information about the other two has not been revealed. All of them have been admitted to LNJP Hospital in Delhi. Here they have been isolated in the dedicated ward. Here they are also being treated.

The countries which have been included in the ‘At Risk’ list by the Central Government include all European countries including Britain, Israel, South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Serum Institute seeks DCGI’s nod for Coveshield as a booster dose

Pune’s Serum Institute (SII) has sought permission from DCGI for the Kovishield vaccine as a booster dose in India. According to official sources, the Serum Institute of India has cited the demand for booster shots because of the sufficient stock of vaccines in the country and the possibility of a new corona virus variant emerging.

In an application to the country’s Drugs Controller General (DCGI), the Serum Institute’s Director of Regulatory Affairs Prakash Kumar Singh said that the UK’s medical regulator has already approved a booster dose of AstraZeneca’s Kovid vaccine. In such a situation, the company’s vaccine should be approved in India as well.

Here, the governments of Kerala, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh have sought permission from the Center to give booster doses of the vaccine, expressing concern about Omicron.
