On the other hand, the country has now got the 9th vaccine in the fight against corona infection. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has given this information by tweeting on Sunday. He said in a tweet that the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved the emergency use of single-dose Sputnik Light Kovid-19 vaccine. This is the 9th corona vaccine approved in the country. This will strengthen the country’s fight against the pandemic.

Earlier on Saturday, DCGI’s Subject Expert Committee had recommended approval of the Sputnik Light One-Shot Corona Vaccine developed in Russia. Based on this recommendation, DCGI has given emergency use approval to this vaccine on Sunday. Hyderabad-based Indian company Dr. Reddy Laboratories is the Indian partner of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), which produces the Sputnik vaccine, which will produce this vaccine. The company has also given an application to the Government of India to start clinical trials to use this vaccine as a booster dose. Sputnik Lite vaccine is the first component of the two-dose Sputnik-V vaccine.
