Corbevax vaccine will come this month: Central government orders to buy 5 crore doses; Adolescents over 12 years old

The Union Health Ministry has placed an order to buy 5 crore doses of the biological E vaccine, Corbevax. This vaccine will become available in the country this month. The price of Corbevax will be the lowest among the Kovid vaccines being used in the country so far.

The cost of one dose will be Rs 145. GST will be different on this. The company will start supplying the vaccine from this month at the places specified by the government. HLL Lifecare Limited, an undertaking of the Ministry of Health, has handed over Rs 725 crore to the company for this. 30 crore vaccine doses will be purchased from the company.

Apart from corona vaccination for children, prevention doses of corona are also being administered to senior citizens above 60 years of age and front line workers from January 10.

According to sources, the Corbevax vaccine may be used for children above 12 years of age. The Drugs Controller General of India has also given permission for the trial of mixing Corbevax with Covaccine and Covishield.

Right now these 3 vaccines are being taken
Serum Covishield costs Rs 215 per dose and Bharat Biotech’s Covaccine costs Rs 225 per dose. At the same time, a dose of Jaykov-D costs Rs 265. It takes three doses and an applicator of Rs 93 has to be taken for each dose.

According to the Union Health Ministry, 75% of the country’s population has received both doses of the vaccine.

So far 8 vaccines have been approved for emergency use in the country.
So far, 8 vaccines of corona in our country have been approved for emergency use by the drug regulator. These include CoveShield, Covaxin, ZyCoV-D, Sputnik V, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, Corbevax and Kovovax.
