PM Modi in Karnataka: “…Using the EVM issue, they tried to spoil the country’s name across the world. The law and order situation in Karnataka is bad after the Congress came to power.”

From Electronic Voting Machines (EVM), appeasement to Neha Hiremath murder and ‘inheritance tax’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued his attack on the Congress on Sunday, saying the “party should apologise for spreading lies”.

Speaking at a rally in Belagavi, Modi said, “Bharat has grown stronger in the past 10 years, but the Congress does not like the achievements of Bharat…Using the EVM issue, they tried to spoil the country’s name across the world. They are spreading lies about EVMs. They should apologise to the nation.”

“We worship King Shivaji. The Congress prince keeps attacking and insulting India’s kings and queens for vote bank politics and appeasement. The Congress is supporting parties that praise Aurangzeb. Why is the party not talking about the atrocities done by Aurangzeb during his rule? The Congress ka shehzada does not remember the atrocities of Aurangzeb, who destroyed and desecrated hundreds of our temples. They have forgotten who destroyed our holy places, looted and slaughtered cows. He has insulted Shivaji Maharaj.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader also attacked the party on the law and order situation in Congress-ruled Karnataka. “The Congress is trying to finish democracy in the country. The law and order situation in Karnataka is bad after the Congress came to power. When there was a bomb blast at a cafe in Bengaluru, the Congress did not take it seriously. The entire country was shocked with what happened to a daughter in Hubballi. The girl’s family has been demanding action, but the Congress is only worried about its vote bank…”

The PM was referring to Neha, a 23-year-old first-year Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) student at BV Bhoomaraddi (BVB) College of Engineering and Technology and daughter of Hubballi Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) councillor Niranjan Hiremath, who was stabbed seven times on the campus by Fayaz, 23, a dropout of the same institute whose advances she had spurned. The woman died of multiple stab wounds, while Fayaz has been arrested. While the government initially cited personal reasons, her father later claimed she was being forced to convert and was murdered because she refused.

“For its vote bank, it is even taking support of the Popular Front of India (PFI) in Wayanad. The Congress is engaged in defending such a terrorist organisation just to win one seat, Wayanad,” Modi said.

The PFI is an anti-national organization that gives shelter to terrorism and has been banned by the Modi government.

Continuing his tirade against the ‘inheritance tax’, Modi said, “The brother-sister want to do an X-ray of your property.”
