In 2017, a case of kidnapping and rape was lodged by a minor girl against BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar from Unnao’s Bangarmau seat. Hathras Gang Rape Victim: Congress is also preparing to give ticket to a woman from the family of this Dalit girl. Which woman of the family will get the ticket, it has to be decided. It is possible to be given to either mother or sister-in-law. A case of gang rape with a Dalit girl came to light in Hathras on 14 September 2020. The accused belonged to the upper caste Thakur community. The matter caught fire when the girl died on September 29 at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. The police had cremated the girl in chaos without informing the family.
