Congress will go to court if police takes no action against Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma: Revanth | Hyderabad News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: The Congress has decided to go to the court seeking action against Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma if the police failed to arrest him.
All the top leaders of the Telangana Congress including A Revanth Reddy, T Jagga Reddy, Shabbir Ali, V Hanumanth Rao, Marri Shashidhar Reddy, Dasoju Sravan, Alleti Maheshwar Reddy, G Niranjan, J Geetha Reddy, Mahesh Kumar Goud among others lodged complaints in various police stations in the state against Assam CM on Monday. The party cadres lodged complaints in almost all the police stations in the state.
“It’s not the matter of Gandhi family having been insulted. The BJP leaders and Assam CM Himanta have insulted the women. The BJP which talks about Bharat Mata has insulted her too. Why is Prime Minister Narendra Modi silent on this issue,” he said .
On KCR supporting Rahul Gandhi over Himanta’s remarks, Revanth said both TRS and BJP are playing a drama. BJP leaders Amit Shah, JP Nadda and Bandi Sanjay have been stating that KCR and his family are involved in corruption in the irrigation projects. But so far the BJP government has not ordered any inquiry against KCR leave alone a CBI investigation.
“Now, KCR has started saying he has proof of corruption by the Modi-government and its ministers. TRS and BJP should at least put in public domain the proof of corruption against each other if they are not friendly parties,” Revanth demanded.
In their complaints, Congress members demanded that the police book a criminal case against Himanta and arrest him. Revanth and others also appealed to the police to register a case against the Assam chief minister under sections 153A and 505 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for promoting enmity between different groups.
Revanth demanded that CM KCR send a special police team to arrest Himanta.
