BJP will win Goa with full majority: Fadnavis

BJP’s newly-appointed Goa election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said that his party will win next year’s assembly elections in the state with an absolute majority. Fadnavis also said that a decision on pre-poll alliances with like-minded parties will be taken in the BJP parliamentary board meeting.

Fadnavis, who was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, is currently serving as Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Darshan are in Goa with Jardosh and are holding frequent meetings in view of next year’s assembly elections. Reddy and Zardosh have been appointed as co-election in-charges of Goa.

Fadnavis said in a press conference that the BJP is confident of winning the upcoming assembly elections with an absolute majority due to the work done by the governments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Center and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the state. Responding to a question, Fadnavis said that the BJP will fight the Goa elections unitedly and achieve a historic victory.

Significantly, in the 2017 state assembly elections, the Congress had won 17 out of 40 seats while the BJP had 13 seats. However, in a setback to the Congress, the saffron party formed the government under the leadership of Manohar Parrikar along with independents and regional parties.

Fadnavis said the BJP will remember former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who passed away in 2019. But I would like to point out that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has handled the state administration in a better way after Parrikar’s death.
