Akshay Kumar Lost his mother Aruna Bhatia on 8 September. The actor cut short his film shoots in London and came back to India to be with his ailing mother, who has passed away.

“My mother… Mrs. Aruna Bhatia left this world peacefully this morning and reunited with her father in another world. I respect your prayers as I and my family are going through this phase. Om Shanti ,” he wrote while sharing the sad news of his mother’s demise on social media. The film fraternity took to social media and offered prayers and warm wishes for the family. Later, some film industry colleagues were also spotted at Akshay’s house.

Now, Akshay shared a picture of a letter that was sent by PM Narendra Modi to condole the demise of his mother. “Humbled by condolence messages on the passing of mother, Grateful to all 🙏 Grateful to Hon’ble Prime Minister for this wonderful gesture to take out time and express warm feelings for me and my late parents. These comforting words will always be with me,” wrote Akshay while sharing the letter with his fans.

In the letter, PM Modi lauded Akshay’s parents for raising a son like him. He also called him ‘one of the most admired and versatile actors of India’. He also shared that he had spoken with Akshay on the day of his mother’s death.

Meanwhile, Akshay has returned to shoot for his upcoming film with Bell Bottom director Ranjit M Tiwari.
