There is a possibility of light rain in Delhi today and the Meteorological Department has said that conditions are favorable for further advance of Monsoon into the national capital.

The city remained humid with a minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 37 degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department said, “Conditions were favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and some more parts of Rajasthan.”

The relative humidity was recorded at 74 per cent at 8.30 am. IMD scientist Sunita Devi had said on Sunday that the onset of monsoon would be announced on July 12 at 8.30 am based on the observations in Monday afternoon’s bulletin.

As per the standard operating procedure, the onset of monsoon is announced on the basis of rainfall ending at 8.30 am during the last 24 hours.
