A complaint has been filed against Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar from Chandigarh. A complaint has been sent to the Punjab Women’s Commission and the Advertising Council of India. The case is of speaking a double meaning word in an advertisement. Advocate HC Arora of Punjab Haryana High Court termed the word ‘Fatti’ used in the advertisement of Dollar Company’s vest as obscene and double meaning.
It has been said in the complaint that it was said in the advertisement – if the dollar is worn, it will never break. The word fatti was used in advertising in the name of creativity, while it is a vulgar and double meaning word. The last part of the ad has such double meaning that if a daughter asks her father for its meaning, the father will feel ashamed to explain its meaning.
Arora said that such type of advertisement should not be allowed to be aired. If such advertisements are allowed to circulate in this way, it will have a very bad effect on the society. After the complaint, it now depends on the Women’s Commission that what will be their decision regarding this advertisement.
