During the IND-W vs PAK-W ICC Women’s World Cup match, Maroof was seen reaching the stadium with his six-month-old daughter Fatima in her arms.

After the India-W vs Pak-W World Cup match on Monday, Smriti Mandhana posted a heartfelt note for Maroof as she lauded the Pakistan captain for inspiring women cricketers. After becoming a mother in just 6 months, Maroof returned to playing international cricket.

Mandhana wrote on her Instagram story, “Coming back from pregnancy at 6 months and playing international cricket is so inspiring. @bismahmaroof is setting an example for sportspersons across the globe. Lots of love to India’s baby Fatima and me Hope she picks up the bat. Just like you because Leftists are special.”

According to media reports in Pakistan, Maroof was thinking of retiring from cricket due to her pregnancy, but she eventually decided to continue with the sport. She has become an inspiration not only for women in Pakistan and all over the world.

After the match, both Indian and Pakistani players were seen interacting with each other. A video of Indian women players gathering around Maroof to play and chat with their daughter had gone viral.

The Indian women’s cricket team made an impressive start to their ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 campaign by defeating rival Pakistan by 107 runs. This is India’s women’s cricket team’s fourth consecutive and 11th consecutive win against Pakistan in the World Cup.
