A second year BA student of Government College Jatauli has been admitted to the hospital after he was badly assaulted on the campus in a suspected case of ragging.

An FIR was registered against six students in connection with the incident under sections 147 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly) and 323 of the IPC at Pataudi police station on Friday, he said.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Chander Shekhar. The police had registered a case on the complaint of his father Ashok Kumar.

The complainant said that on Friday morning, his son was attacked by some students in the college campus, resulting in multiple injuries including his right eye.

He further said that due to the seriousness of the injuries, his son had to be admitted to the ICU of Pataudi Hospital. The man named six students for the attack.

“My son had no dispute with anyone and it was a case of ragging in which senior students attacked him for show. He is not yet fit to give a statement due to his injuries. Police said they are verifying the facts and action will be taken as per the law.
