College student dies in Coimbatore road accident | Coimbatore News – Times of India

COIMBATORE: A 19-year-old student of a private college died after a two-wheeler he was riding on rammed a roadside tree near Kurichi Kulam in Coimbatore on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Vishnu of Thillai Nagar near Selvapuram. He was a BBA student at the SNMV College of Arts and Science and Institute of Management in Malumichampatti.
Two of his friends – Vignesh, 19, of Edayar Street in Coimbatore and Satheeswaran, 19, of Devakottai in Sivaganga district — were riding pillion on the two-wheeler.
Vignesh, who suffered severe injuries in the mishap, was battling for life, police said. He was admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH). Satheeswaran, who suffered fractures, was also admitted to CMCH.
The trio were going to college from Ukkadam on the motorcycle. When they reached Kaliyamman temple near Kurichi Kulam, a speeding truck came from the opposite direction. The front right indicator of the motorcycle hit the truck. Vishnu lost control of the motorcycle. The motorcycle rammed a roadside tree. All of the thrown from the motorcycle. The accident happened around 7.15am.
A traffic investigation wing (West) police team led by sub-inspector Suresh reached the spot. They sent the injured youths to the CMCH where Vishnu died without responding to treatment.
The TIW police registered a case.
