Cold wave grips north India, winter vacations extended in schools in THESE states

Winter vacation extended in Gorakhpur schools

Meanwhile, the Gorakhpur DM directed to keep government and other recognized schools from LKG to class 8 closed for two days on January 2 and January 3 in view of the cold on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has extended the winter vacation in all government, private and aided schools till January 8 due to extreme cold conditions.

School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains today said that all the schools in the state will not open on January 2 as announced earlier. According to media reports, the schools will now open on January 9. Earlier there was winter vacation from 25th December to 1st January.

Winter vacation extended in Patna schools

All schools including government and private up to class 8 in Patna will now open on January 7.

Winter vacation extended in Haryana schools

In Haryana too, winter vacation in all schools has been extended up to Class VIII. Now the schools will reopen on January 9.

The Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during the next five days. The IMD predicted that due to northwesterly winds from the Himalayas over the plains of northwest India, the minimum temperature is likely to drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius over northwest and adjoining central India during the next two days. There is a possibility.
