The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday accused the BJP of diverting attention from important issues by raising the issue of Rs 45 crore spent on CM Arvind Kejriwal’s house. The BJP on Tuesday claimed that around Rs 45 crore was spent on ‘beautification’ of Kejriwal’s official residence.

The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence was built in 1942 and the roof had collapsed three times.

AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said that after the incidents of roof collapse, the Public Works Department suggested to build a new house and it was done. “The house has been reconstructed at a cost of Rs 30 crore,” he told a press conference.

The official residence of the Chief Minister is in the Civil Lines area of ​​North Delhi.

“Since yesterday, an attempt is being made to divert attention from major issues like Pulwama attack and Adani case by discussing the Chief Minister’s residence. It was an 80 year old house built in 1942. There was not one but three incidents of roof collapse.

In one, the ceiling of Kejriwal’s parents’ room collapsed; in another, it was the chief minister’s bedroom; And in the third, from the ceiling of the room, he meets the people.

Singh also targeted Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. He said that Saxena’s house had only been repaired and Rs 15 crore had been spent.

He claimed, “Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani’s aircraft cost Rs 191 crore, while Rs 65 crore was spent on buying the aircraft for Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.” Can be seen lying on the floor of the bedroom of the chief minister’s residence.

The BJP on Tuesday claimed that around Rs 45 crore was spent on “beautification” of Kejriwal’s official residence and demanded his resignation on “moral” grounds.
