LucknowExpressing concern over the rising population of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that the population control program should go ahead successfully but at the same time “population imbalance” should not be allowed. Speaking at a function to mark the beginning of ‘Population Control Fortnight’, the Chief Minister said, “When we talk about family planning/population stabilization, we have to keep in mind that the population control program should proceed successfully. But at the same time, the situation of population imbalance should not be allowed to happen.”
Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in terms of population in the country.

CM Yogi said that for the last five decades, awareness programs regarding population stabilization are being run. He said that population on a scale is the achievement of the society, but this achievement will be achieved only when the society remains healthy and disease free.
The Chief Minister’s Office tweeted in Hindi, “If we have skilled manpower, it is an achievement for the society, but where there are diseases, lack of resources and disorder, population explosion becomes a challenge in itself.”

Describing Uttar Pradesh as the most populous state in the country, CM Adityanath said, “Asha sisters, Anganwadi workers, village heads, teachers and others can work together with the health department. Collective efforts are needed in this direction.” “
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Minister of State for Health Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh were also present on the occasion.
