Classes 6 to 11 reopen in Jaipur, 85% attendance in rural belts | Jaipur News – Times of India

JAIPUR: Classes 6 to 11 opened on Thursday as per government’s guidelines. In small and low-budget schools in Jaipur, around 70% attendance was witnessed. In schools in Sanganer and Jhotwara border areas where rural students are also studying, attendance was more than 85%.
Anil Sharma, president of School Shiksha Pariwarsaid, “The small schools’ students from economically backward areas do not have facilities for online study. Hence, for them classroom teaching is important. In rural areas, the strength has been even better.”
In government schools, the situation has been similar. Urmila Bareth, principal of Mahatma Gandhi Government School, said that the attendance was more than 60% on Thursday. likewise, in Government SchoolBagru, the attendance was around 70%.
In bigger schools where students from financially good families attend, the attendance have been around 15% to 40%.
Some private schools have also decided to resume classes for VI to IX from Mondays. School authorities said that their online classes are going on continuously with efficient teachers, hence, given an option parent are preferring to keep students at home until vaccination.
