Civic Polls: Adityanath Calls Previous Govts ‘Failed Engines’, Campaigns for ‘Triple-engine Govt’ in UP

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said the “failed engine” of the Congress and the Samajwadi Party had earlier hindered the state’s progress, urging people to vote for the BJP in the urban local body elections for a “triple engine” government. Did.

The Chief Minister addressed public meetings in Mathura, Firozabad and Agra as part of the campaign for the civic polls to be held across the state on May 4 and 11. Local BJP MP Hema Malini shared the stage with him in Mathura.

Adityanath accused previous governments of “obstructing” development both in the state and at the Center before the BJP came to power.

“However, with a double engine government, development is happening at double the speed and with a triple engine the pace of development will increase three times,” Adityanath said in Firozabad.

He also stressed on the “improvement” of law and order in the state since his government came to power.

“Before 2017, people from a particular party used to roam around with ‘tamancha’ (country-made pistol) in their hands. Today the youth have tablets in their hands.

He said, ‘Earlier there was terror of miscreants, today it is a safe city.

“The cities of UP are turning into smart cities and losing their past reputation as garbage dumps,” he said.

“Before 2014, the country faced an identity crisis, corruption was at its peak and the youth were feeling troubled. India’s respect as a country was falling globally. The development was limited to the Five Year Plans,” he said.

He said, “India is now being recognized for its talent, technology and training and the world community is looking towards India in times of crisis.”

He accused the previous governments of neglecting the development of Mathura and said that his government has started projects worth Rs 32,000 crore which will revive the grandeur of Mathura in the ‘Dwapar Yuga’.

Adityanath slammed the “corrupt and bad system” under the earlier governments.

He said that the formation of Mathura-Vrindavan Municipal Corporation in 2017 and then Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad has taken forward the action plan of overall development.

He urged the people to vote for the BJP candidate in the Mathura elections and form a “triple engine” government.

The CM said that UP has received investment proposals worth Rs 35 lakh crore during the Global Investors Summit 2023, and this will provide employment to 50,000 youths in the Braj region around Mathura.

“India has changed today and we must join this process of change. Today, major infrastructure and construction projects such as airports, IITs and AIIMS have been completed within time. Due to the respect of heritage, places like Kashi, Ayodhya, Kedarnath and Mahakal are rejuvenated. This is the new India.” The Chief Minister said that Jawahar Bagh in Mathura used to be a den of hooliganism and riots used to happen in Kosi Kalan. But now PepsiCo India has set up the world’s largest manufacturing plant there.

He also referred to the ban on the sale of meat and liquor in large parts of Mathura and Vrindavan after the BJP came to power. He said that no one is allowed to play with the sanctity of this place.

He said that Banke Bihari Dham would be developed on the lines of Varanasi.

“It is our responsibility to bring back the glory of Barsana, Gokul and Govardhan,” he said, adding that municipal elections were important for this.
