Design
As compared to the outgoing model, the 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross facelift will feature a host of styling updates on the outside. The split headlamp setup makes way for a single chunky unit with two LED DRL strips that are connected to the embellishment on the grille. The front bumper is redesigned, while the SUV is also equipped with a new and larger Citroen logo up front.
The Citroen C5 Aircross facelift also gets brand-new dual-tone alloy wheels, along with updated tail lights. While the overall shape of the SUV remains unchanged, the changes make it look more modern and mature than before.
Interior & Features
On the inside, the C5 Aircross will now be equipped with a free-standing 10-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The AC vents that were previously placed on the sides of the infotainment screen, are now placed below the display which gives it a cleaner look. Other features on offer include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, auto climate control, electronically adjustment for seats, wireless charger, and so on.
Citroen claims that the front seats have better cushioning than before, thanks to 15 mm of additional padding. Also, the gear lever is now replaced with a toggle switch. The new C5 Aircross is also expected to get Citroen’s Highway Driver Assist suit of ADAS safety features like forward collision prevention, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and so on.
Engine specs
No changes are expected to be made to the engine. The Citroen C5 Aircross is expected to retain its 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine that belts out 177 hp of max power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties will continue to be taken care of by an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox as standard.
Expected price & Rivals
The 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross facelift is expected to be priced from Rs 34 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Upon arrival, it will continue to rival the likes of Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, and Volkswagen Tiguan.
