R Baki raised our expectations by opening up about the casting of his upcoming film Chup. With Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan and Shreya Dhavanthari sharing the screen, one could only expect a power packed performance. Now, the teaser of the film is out, and it will leave you stunned.
Unveiled on Guru Dutt’s birth anniversary, the film is a fitting tribute to the legendary actor. Actually, in the teaser we see that Salman’s character makes ‘Kaagaz Ke Phool’ for Shreya Dhanwantri on Guru Dutt’s birthday. He says how the film was criticized at that time. We also get to hear ‘Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam’ in the background. And of course, we see Sunny Deol returning in an angry avatar, but there is one more promise that we will get to see from him. The only person who is missing from Pooja Bhatt’s teaser. Hopefully, her character will be unveiled in the trailer, and she will add more nuance to the psychological thriller. Earlier, talking about the casting, R Balki had said, “Dulkar is probably one of the most attractive actors in Indian cinema today, and even though I can’t say much about his role at the moment, but I am really looking forward to his specific role and the cool interpretation of it.”
Talking about Pooja Bhatt, she said, “Pooja is one of the most versatile actors in our industry and I must thank (writer-director) Alankrita (Srivastava) for giving her yet another exceptional in ‘Bombay Begums’. Got the exposure. She is candid and born to be in front of the cameras and on-screen.”
Balki was equally positive about Shreya Dhanwantri and said: “After seeing her performances in both ‘Scam 1992’ and ‘Family Man’, I knew I would eventually work with this talented girl. One of the exciting and contemporary actors and I look forward to the on-screen chemistry between her and Dulquer.
