In the last two days, the line between Shivpal and Akhilesh has increased by an inch. On April 20, in Agra, on the question related to Shivpal, Akhilesh said, “Whatever you get from the BJP, it will not be seen in the SP.” A day after this, i.e. yesterday, without naming Akhilesh, Shivpal said in an interview, “If he has any problem with me, then he should throw me out of the party.” A question arises from both the statements.

Has Shivpal really made up his mind to join the BJP? We have understood the answer to this question from the pattern of events related to Shivpal in the last 26 days. In the first graphic, know how the increasing distance from SP is indicating Shivpal’s joining BJP.

This change in Shivpal’s attitude is not new. Shivpal’s statements showed a soft corner for Yogi since the Yogi government came to power in 2017. Sometimes he supported Yogi by ignoring the entire opposition, and sometimes he tied bridges on the stage to praise the UP government. Let’s go through all one by one.

May 3, 2017: Shivpal showered on Akhilesh in Etawah, tied bridges to praise Yogi
In May 2017, the tussle between Shivpal and Akhilesh was at its peak. In place of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh was handling the responsibility of the SP president, but Shivpal wanted Mulayam to take over as the president again. On May 3, 2017, when he was in Etawah, he praised CM Yogi and gave an open warning to Akhilesh. Talking to reporters, he first described CM Yogi as a leader with strong will. Warning Akhilesh, he said, “Akhilesh fulfills his promise to hand over the post of president to Netaji in 3 months, otherwise I will form a secular front for the purpose of forming a new party.”

2 October 2019: When the entire opposition protested, then Shivpal stood with the Yogi government
A special session was called in the assembly on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, but the entire opposition along with the SP started boycotting the session, then Shivpal was seen standing with the Yogi government. Apart from this, Shivpal also praised the state government in the house. He had said, “The leadership of the state is in the hands of a hardworking Chief Minister. Gas cylinders were given to women in UP. First place is also being given in the housing scheme. The Investor Summit of the UP government was a good step to increase investment.” After this statement given by Shivpal in the house, applause started.

July 30, 2021: Six months before the assembly elections, Shivpal told Yogi that honest leaders had arrived in July 2021 to lay the foundation stone of the oxygen plant in his assembly constituency, Jaswat Nagar. Talking to reporters, he described CM Yogi as an honest leader. He had said, “Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is an honest leader, but he needs to stop the corruption spread in the bureaucracy.”

The entire election has passed, Shivpal did not utter a word against Yogi.
During the UP assembly elections, Shivpal surrounded the state government on the issues of unemployment and inflation, but he did not utter a word against CM Yogi from any election platform. While he gave many such statements during this, hearing which the SP workers were definitely confused.

Initiating the Lohia Sandesh Yatra on 15 August 2021, Shivpal said, “In the 2022 elections, the government may be of any party but they will be part of the government at any cost.” After this statement, the discussions of his joining the BJP intensified. His statement was considered a sarcasm on Akhilesh.

The talk of Shivpal’s statements ends here. Next we have talked to political experts on Shivpal’s political future. But before that answer our question…

Shivpal is now more serious on son Aditya’s future politics
Political expert Kumar Bhavesh Chandra, who has covered the UP assembly elections since 1990, says, “Shivpal has seen many ups and downs in his political career. Now he is thinking about the political future of his son Aditya Yadav. Elections I had asked for a ticket for Aditya, but Akhilesh refused. Looking at the future of the SP, there is little scope for Aditya to be given a big responsibility. In such a situation, Shivpal grew closer to the BJP to bring Aditya into active politics. are.”

The Deputy Speaker’s chair can bring closeness to the BJP
Senior journalist Vivek Gupta says, “SP’s hardcore voters have always seen Mulayam’s image in Shivpal. When Mulayam left the post of president, the old Yadav voters started considering Shivpal as their leader, but due to differences with Akhilesh, he is still in the SP. He didn’t get the respect he deserved. Even today, a large majority of Yadav voters prefer Shivpal. BJP also knows this.”

He further says, “The Deputy Speaker is yet to be elected in the UP Assembly. If Shivpal joins the BJP, he can be made the Deputy Speaker. This will improve the image of the BJP among Yadav voters and its advantage in the coming Lok Sabha elections.” Yogi will have.”
