New Delhi: Actress Krissan Pereira, who has featured in films like Batla House and Sadak 2, was arrested in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) two weeks ago and is currently lodged in Sharjah Central Jail on charges of drug trafficking. Hindustan Times report quoted her brother Kevin as saying, “We have gone through emotional torture in last 2 weeks, my sister is innocent and she has been implicated in a drug racket. Informed that he has been arrested.” in Sharjah Central Jail.”
As per reports, he was arrested at the airport after he was caught with drugs.
His family claims that a man named Ravi duped him on the pretext of offering him a web series. He reportedly first texted Krissan’s mother Premila Pereira and offered to introduce the actress to “his talent (pool team) for a web show”. They met several times and later an audition was locked for Krishan in Dubai. On April 1, the man called the actress to a coffee shop minutes away from the Mumbai International Airport and presented her with a trophy.
The HT report quoted her mother as saying, “He (Ravi) handed her a trophy, probably mentioning that the said trophy is part of the script for the audition and will be required for the audition. Accordingly, that trophy will be in his possession.” On April 10, we were informed by the consulate that Chrisson has been charged with drugs found in souvenirs.”
However, upon arrival at the Sharjah airport, Krissan could not reach Ravi and sensed something was wrong. His brother said, “The local police are not registering an FIR as the official charges have not come from Sharjah.”
