Days after the Indian Army sought their help in locating a 17-year-old boy from Arunachal Pradesh, a Defense Ministry PRO from Tezpur on Sunday said that the Chinese Army has informed India that they have found a missing person from Arunachal Pradesh. The boy has been found.

Tezpur PRO Lt Col Harshvardhan Pandey said, “The Chinese Army has informed us that they have found a missing boy from Arunachal Pradesh and due process is being followed.”

Earlier, the Indian Army had asked the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China to trace and return a young boy, allegedly from Arunachal Pradesh, who was captured by the Chinese Army, said the Tezpur Public Relations Officer of the Defense Ministry. Help was sought.

“A 17-year-old youth from Jido, Arunachal Pradesh, Miram Tarom was allegedly captured by the Chinese PLA across the Line of Actual Control. The Indian Army immediately contacted the PLA through a hotline, tracing him as per protocol and returning him. Assistance has been sought from PLA to do this,” the PRO tweeted on Thursday.

On 19 January, Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao claimed that a 17-year-old youth had been kidnapped from inside Indian territory. Gao claimed that the youth was “kidnapped” from Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Gao further claimed that the Chinese PLA kidnapped the youth from where the Tsangpo River enters India in Arunachal Pradesh.

He tweeted, “Chinese PLA kidnapped Mr. Miram Taron, 17, of Jido village. Yesterday, 18 Jan 2022 from inside Indian territory to Lungta Jor area (3-4 km road built by China inside India in 2018) ) under Siungala area (Bushing village). ) Upper Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh.”

Gao tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the Indian Army in his tweet.
