Shraddha Shukla from Raipur, Chhattisgarh has secured AIR 45 in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2021, the result of which was declared in the afternoon. The 23-year-old managed to clear one of the toughest exams across the country in her second attempt.
He claims that he has studied online for the civil services exam sitting at home. She said that she wants to dispel the myth that the only way to crack UPSC civil services is by spending huge sums of money on Delhi-based coaching institutes.
In her first attempt also, she had cracked the Civil Services Examination and was part of the weightlifting list, however, she could not clear it. In his second attempt he has been part of the merit list.
He had also cleared the accounts and tally services entrance exam at the state level earlier and is now on his way to become an IAS officer.
Shraddha is the daughter of the communications chief of the Chhattisgarh Congress Committee. After knowing about her results, her whole family was very proud.
Talking to News18.com, Shukla told that during his interview round he was asked what skills are required to become an IAS. She was also asked how she would deal with the challenges that come with the job of a collector.
According to Shraddha, what set her interview apart was that she volunteered to sing the state song for the panel during the interview round. The topper said that the panel was impressed by his skill and dedication.
A total of 685 candidates have been recommended for administrative posts in the Central Government. The recommended candidates include 25 persons with benchmark disability (07 Orthopedically Handicapped; 05 Blind, 08 Hearing Impaired and 05 Multiple Handicapped).
A total of 10,93,984 candidates had applied for this exam out of which 5,08,619 candidates actually appeared in the exam. A total of 9214 candidates qualified to appear in the written (main) examination held in January, 2022. A total of 1824 candidates qualified for the personality test of the exam.
