Chhattisgarh: Compensation to Chhattisgarh with GST, deployment of central security forces to fight Naxalism: Bhupesh Baghel India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Chattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel Demanded on Thursday that the Center should continue to give GST compensation to the state for the next five years.
Baghel also reiterated the demand for reimbursement of Rs 15,000 crore expenditure on central security forces deployed in Naxal eradication as well as transfer of Rs 4,140 crore collected as ‘additional levy’ from coal block companies to Chhattisgarh.
In the pre-budget meeting, the Chief Minister participated in the pre-budget meeting amidst several proposals on the economic issue of Chhattisgarh. He said that the GST compensation to be given by the Center to Chhattisgarh will allow the state government to spend on development programs and schemes.
Baghel said that the states have suffered a loss of revenue due to the GST tax system, and Center The state has not made arrangements to compensate the loss of revenue of about Rs 5000 crore in the coming year, so the GST compensation grant should be continued for the next 5 years even after June 2022.
He said that Chhattisgarh has got less share of Rs 13,089 crore in central taxes. last union budget Three more years and said that in the coming budget, the share of central taxes should be given completely to the state.
The Chief Minister also demanded a special provision for reimbursement of Rs 15,000 crore expenditure incurred by the state government on the central security forces deployed in the state for the eradication of Naxalism.
He also pointed to the reduction in the state’s share and revenue from VAT as a result of reduction in central excise duty on petrol and diesel by the Centre. Baghel Said that in future instead of excise tax, cess should be reduced.
