CANAKONA: Several residents of Chaudi in canacona have called upon the municipal authority to clear the roadside garbage regularly as it is becoming an eyesore to the public. Garbage is also strewn opposite the Canacona community health centre.
A senior citizen said the garbage is scattered along the road even as dustbins are kept at several spots. “It is important that the authority concerned clears the scattered garbage as it often becomes unwanted food for stray dogs and cattle, besides birds,” he said.
Chairperson of Canacona municipal council Mario Simon Rebello told TOI that the collectors said the waste collected at certain spots is being scattered by stray cattle.
