Chasing history – A look at India’s 12-match winning streak in T20Is

The stage is set for the team India To create history in the first T20I against South Africa at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi. India vs Sri Lanka (27 February 2022)

India registered their 12th consecutive T20 win in the third and final match of the bilateral series against Sri Lanka on 27 February. Whose record did the Men in Blue equalize with this win? In the final game of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, India registered a crushing nine-wicket win over Namibia. Opting to bowl, Virat Kohli’s men restricted the opposition to 132/8 and then chased down the target in the 16th over with the help of Rohit Sharma’s 56 and KL Rahul’s 54. India registered an impressive eight-wicket win against Scotland in the ICC tournament. Coming to bat, Scotland could only score 85 runs. India chased down the target in 6.3 overs thanks to 50 runs from KL Rahul.

India vs Afghanistan (3 November 2021)

India secured their maiden victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 with a 66-run win over Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi. Out in the bat, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul played an important role with an opening partnership of 140 runs. India scored 210 and restricted their subcontinental neighbors to 144 in the run chase. Among the bowlers, Mohammed Shami took three wickets.
