Mumbai: Indian-American Raja Chari | (44), who has early family roots in Telangana, is all set to embark on his first space flight as its commander. In a virtual media interaction on Wednesday evening, Chari Said that the mission will help in testing technologies on the space station, among other things NASAmission to the moon is called artemis.

Called Exploration Technique, Chari said the aspects that will be tested for a shot to the Moon aboard the space station will be linked to life support systems. “We’ll be able to troubleshoot near-Earth problems before we fly to the Moon,” Chari said, “we’re really excited to be sitting here (the crew quarters at Kennedy Space Center), just a few miles away from the rocket. But we will ride.
He said that his crew got a chance to interact with the Inspiration4 team. Inspiration 4 was the world’s first private mission to orbit which was launched by SpaceX on 16 September 2021. “Although it was a personal mission, we benefited from his experience. It proved beneficial either way,” said Chari.
Speaking to the media after the crew arrived at Kennedy Space Center earlier on Tuesday, Chari lauded the partnership between government and private agencies that is proving beneficial to the space mission.
Chari said: “Be it cargo or Inspire 4, more data is always good that can make space flight safer and better. In terms of improvements and risk reduction, thousands of people are working to ensure that We are safe. We have full faith in the system.
With regard to the science on this mission, he said his interests are in environmental systems, increasing the efficiency of water recycling and clearing carbon dioxide.
