Chaos At Borders, Parents Worried | Vadodara News – Times of India

Vadodara: Relief was on the way for a few parents in Vadodara as their stranded in Ukraine’s Chernivtsi boarded a flight from Budapest to reach Mumbai late on Saturday evening.
From Mumbai, students from Gujarat will be brought to their home state by the state government.
“After reaching Romania border on Friday, my daughter boarded a flight from Budapest today afternoon. Before boarding the flight, she informed me from the Budapest airport that she is safe and will land in Mumbai late evening,” said Sandeep Kansara, whose daughter Sampada, a medicine student was stranded in Chernivtsi.
Sandeep also got a call from Gujarat government officials who have kept two buses at the Mumbai airport from where the group of students evacuated from Ukraine will be brought to Gujarat.
A CSMIA spokesperson said that a special corridor has been blocked for the stranded Indian students who are being evacuated.
As per the guidelines, the Airport Health Organization team at the airport will be conducting mandatory temperature checks. “CSMIA is undertaking steps to smoothen the process of the young students arriving at the airport and provide them with any guidance or medical assistance if required at the time of arrival,” a spokesperson for said.
But other parents are still worried. Vaishali Modi whose daughter Jhanvi Modi was stuck in a bunker along with other Indian students in Ternopil is still anxious. Jhanvi has reached Romania border from where arrangements are being made to evacuate Indian students. “They reached the Romania border through personal transport. But at the border, there is complete chaos. They had to walk 10 km, there is a huge traffic jam. The border will open at midnight and 5 am early on Sunday. They are currently in a petrol pump but are completely tired and fatigued,” said Vaishali, a Karelibaug resident, who is getting anxious with each hour.
Like her, Zaki Palanpuri is also anxious about his son Faiz’s well-being.
“He along with other 25 students reached Poland border but there were no arrangements at the border. There is complete chaos, no food or water. They have walked around 50 km and are now exploring other means to return to their hostel in Lviv,” he said.
