Captain Amarinder Singh and CM Channi met on Thursday at Captain’s Siswan Farm House. At present, the agenda of this meeting has not been revealed, but it is being speculated that in view of Captain’s experience in Punjab politics, Channi wants him to remain with the party. Charanjit Channi, who was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Punjab on September 20, was invited by former CM Captain Amarinder Singh to eat him at his farmhouse on the same day. Then Channi turned down his invitation and went to Pargat Singh’s house to have food with Sidhu.

Channi had revolted against Amarinder
A few months ago, the current CM Charanjit Singh Channi was also among the 4 big ministers who revolted against the then CM Captain Amarinder Singh. He prepared the ground of rebellion in Punjab and went to Dehradun. On the day Channi took oath as the Chief Minister, the Captain invited him for lunch at Siswa Farm House, but Channi turned down his invitation and went with Sidhu for lunch at MLA Pargat Singh’s house.

The growing distance between Sidhu and Channi
All is not well between CM Charanjit Channi and Sidhu. Sidhu is continuously attacking his government. Sometimes on the pretext of appointment of DGP and Advocate General and sometimes on the pretext of high command agenda, Sidhu has been targeting CM Channi. Because of this, the distance between the two is increasing. It is believed that for this reason the ground was prepared for Channi’s meeting with the Captain.

High command angry with Sidhu, trying to pacify the captain
The Congress high command is currently angry with Navjot Sidhu. Despite the opposition of the Captain, the high command made Sidhu the head of the Punjab Congress. After that, on the insistence of Sidhu and his associates, the Captain was removed from the CM’s chair. The Congress hoped that after this all would be well in Punjab and Congress would come to power in 2022, but before that, a tussle started between the new Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Sidhu.
