Kannada film actor Puneeth Rajkumar, who died of cardiac arrest a fortnight ago, will be honored with Karnataka’s highest civilian honour – the Karnataka Ratna.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai made the announcement during an event organized by the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to pay tribute to the sandalwood star – Puneeth Namna – in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Puneeth Rajkumar will be the second personality in the Kannada film industry and the 10th person to receive Karnataka’s highest civilian honor since its inception three decades ago.
