JAIPUR: The Southwest Monsoon in its last phase brought heavy to moderate rains across the state on Saturday.
The Jaipur Meteorological Department said in its forecast that heavy to very heavy rains are likely over Kota and Udaipur divisions in the next four days, while light to moderate rains will continue over the rest of the state.
Attributing the revival of southwest monsoon to active upper air cyclonic circulation, the Jaipur Met Office said that Kota, Jhalawar, Baran, Bundi, Udaipur, Banswara, Pratapgarh and Chittorgarh districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall till Tuesday. However, light to moderate rain will continue at some places in rest of the districts till September 24. Heavy rain occurred at many places on Saturday, while Dug (Jhalawar) recorded 110 mm of rain. After this, it rained 50 mm to 10 mm at many places.
In Jaipur, though it remained cloudy throughout the day, it did not turn into heavy or moderate rainfall. It was raining only in and around the city throughout the day. The weather in the city was mainly pleasant as the maximum and minimum temperatures saw a drop of around 3 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department said that it is raining continuously at many places which is good for the farmers and recharge of ground water.
